WHEDON'S DIRECTION
The story follows two G.I. JOE MEMBERS, Duke (played by Channing Tatum) and Flint, the latter who joins the G.I. Joe Team, along with Ripcord after being attacked by Military Armaments Research Syndicate (M.A.R.S.) troops. Alternate Real Life Production: During development of the film, Stephen Sommers decided to step down from his position as director to instead do Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen after The Original Director Michael Bay and Writers Roberto Ocri and Alex Kurtzman left due to the Writer's strike, and gave it to Joss Whedon, Stephen Sommers would still contribute to the film as a producer. With Joss Whedon as Director, he did some changes in the film and Examples being with Duke being already part of the G.I. Joe Team and portrayed as a battled hardened soldier and the role of the newcomer given to Flint, portrayed by Tobey Maguire, and the Neo Vipers and Cobra Viper Commandos portrayed as Combat androids.
