Mono's 50-something father, an oafish, sloppy drunk with a bushy grey beard stained by liquor. He calls Agro "demon spirit" and taunts the horse with food just out of reach. He abuses his daughter daily, accusing her of being a curse on his family. In a drunken rage, he throws Mono into a barn wall, snapping her neck. Sobriety hits instantly—the horror of what he has done. When Wander steals Mono's body from her tomb, the Farmer whispers only one word: "Go." It is his only redemption.
