He studied voodoo in Haiti, allowing him to reanimate the dead. His first resurrection was Wild Bill Hickok, shortly after the legendary gunslinger's death.[1] His traveling crew of undead eventually ran into Jonah Hex, and killed the bounty hunter's friend Slow Go Smith.[2] This caused Hex to track him across country.[3] Their final encounter occurred while on the run from bloodthirsty Apaches. Hex crippled Williams so that he would be left behind for the Indians, and the time spent torturing him to death would allow Hex to escape. It is implied that he died a slow and horrible death before getting scalped
