When the Gotham City Post Office releases a series of commemorative stamps depicting the great comedians, Joker is enraged when he isn’t included. He thus attacks the post office, demanding to get his mug plastered on a stamp, until Batman and Robin come in and stop his madness. After Joker’s arrest, it’s revealed that somebody poisoned a large amount of the comedy stamps with Joker Venom, making whoever licks them die from laughter. During his day in court, a crafty lawyer manages to manipulate the system so Joker’s insanity plea doesn’t fly, sentencing him to death. Finally Gotham will be rid of the Clown Prince of Crime. However, while Joker’s in lockup, the poison stamp killings keep piling up, leading Batman to believe that Joker was innocent of that entire plot. Someone else is poisoning the stamps and framing Joker, but if Batman proves his innocence, then he will be stayed from a long overdue execution, thus dooming the city to more suffering. It's a complicated issue.
