The only son of the late Dario Brando, Dio was adopted by the Joestars. Without a doubt, he came in second to Jonathan Joestar, becoming as strong as him. He is a complete foil to Jonathan, as he is rather pure evil, and challenges the Joestars by competing with Jonathan, and going as far as to kiss Jonathan’s girlfriend first, and many tragedies in the Joestar family are mainly caused by Dio himself.
