Kal-El/Clark Kent is the Kryptonian son of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van and the adopted son of Jonathan and Martha Kent. Using the powers he developed as a result of his alien biology's reactions to Earth's environment and solar radiation, he took on the name Superman; becoming Earth's protector.
