James Maury Henson was an American puppeteer, animator, cartoonist, actor, inventor, composer, filmmaker and screenwriter, who achieved worldwide notice as the creator of The Muppets characters and Fraggle Rock; and as the director of The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.
