Fan Casting Jet Black in James McTeigue's Cowboy Bebop

A former ISSP officer who lost his arm and his faith in the system, Jet now captains the Bebop and serves as the crew’s reluctant father figure. He is gruff, methodical, and endlessly exasperated by his dysfunctional found family. He tends a bonsai garden in the engine room, cooks terrible bell peppers, and enforces a strict set of rules designed to keep everyone from killing each other. He found Spike half-dead in an escape pod and has regretted it ever since—but never enough to let him go.
