Fan Casting The Capoeirista in James McTeigue's Bloodsport

An Afro-Brazilian fighter encountered on a Bahia beach who fights Dekker in a vale tudo match. He uses capoeira's spinning, dancing kicks—circling, feinting, attacking from unexpected angles. He tags Dekker with a crescent kick, buries kicks in his chest, and knocks him down repeatedly while the crowd goes wild. Dekker wins only when the Capoeirista lands both feet on the ground—the moment Lusia warned him about—and takes a throat chop. He represents the cultural heart of Brazilian martial arts: beautiful, deadly, and elusive.
