The main villain of the film needs to be sinister, needs to have a strong motivation for their action, and needs to be unique. The actor in place must be able to bring to life the material they are given to depict the evil intent of the character, yet whilst showing human sides and motivations that connect with the audience. Their uniqueness does depend on the writing in a sense, but whatever the actor can bring could make them stand out more!
