Andrew Brion Hogan Goddard (born February 26, 1975) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer most closely associated with the horror genre. He began his career writing episodes for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, and Lost. After moving into screenwriting in film, he wrote Cloverfield (2008), World War Z (2013), and The Martian (2015), the latter earning him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with The Cabin in the Woods. In 2015, Goddard created the Netflix series Daredevil. Soon after, he directed several episodes of The Good Place. He served as an executive producer for 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and The Cloverfield Paradox (2018), the next instalment in the Cloverfield franchise. It was announced in April 2024 that he would write and direct a new film in The Matrix franchise. Synopsis: Tony Stark is the controversial millionaire in New York City. He gets drunk every day and is harsh to his employees. One day, his wife Pepper Potts comes up with the idea that he can take a vacation in China, which he does. It's a good trip only until he is kidnapped by terrorists who lock him in a cave. There he replaces his weak heart with a homemade heart by Stark Technology. He also creates a robot suit that he uses to escape. When he returns to America, he is a changed man. He wants to use his brain and technology for a good cause. With the support of his wife Pepper, his driver Happy and his AI J.A.R.V.I.S, he will do the right thing. He intends to build suits with which he will fight crime. Tony and his father Howard's friend Obadiah Stane will run for president of America. In front of the cameras, he is happy and friendly, but in reality he is a mean drug dealer who abuses people who do not like him. Tony has had his suspicions about Stane for a while now, but has done nothing to respect his father. When Stane gets hold of Tony's old costume he used to escape the cave, he shows the world who he really is. He begins causing chaos and destruction in the city. Tony enters the fight against Stane to stop his destruction. After a long battle, Tony finally manages to win, and Stane is sentenced to life in prison. New Yorkers pay tribute to their new hero 'Iron Man'.
