Tony Stark, a billionaire arms dealer, is ambushed in Afghanistan and taken hostage by the Ten Rings. Forced to build a weapon, he secretly constructs a prototype armored suit and escapes. Returning home, he shuts down his company’s weapons division, angering his business partner, Obadiah Stane. Developing a more advanced suit, Stark becomes a vigilante, targeting those using his weapons for harm. Meanwhile, Stane, seeking power, reverse-engineers Stark’s technology, creating a massive suit of his own. He paralyzes Stark and steals his arc reactor, leaving him for dead. With the help of Pepper Potts and James Rhodes, Stark recovers and confronts Stane in a brutal battle, ultimately defeating him by overloading the arc reactor, causing a massive explosion. At a press conference, Stark ignores his cover story and declares, “I am Iron Man,” shocking the world. Post Credits: Nick Fury visits Stark, introducing the Avengers Initiative.
