Sam Rockwell (born November 5, 1968) is an American actor. He is known for playing distressed police officer Jason Dixon in Martin McDonagh's crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he was nominated in the same category for portraying in Adam McKay's political satire Vice (2018). In 2019, he portrayed Bob Fosse in the FX biographical miniseries Fosse/Verdon, earning a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award, and in 2022, he received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo. Iron-Man 2 is a 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Iron Man. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Skydance Productions And Hasbro Entertainment, it is the sequel to Iron-Man (2008) and the 5th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Jon Favreau and written by Justin Theroux, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron-Man alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Campbell. In the film, while Stark rejects government demands to share his Iron-Man suit technology, Russian scientist Ivan Vanko (Rourke) creates his own version and plots revenge against the Stark family.
