Irish Portrait is set in the 19th century and tells the story of Dima Morozov, a young Russian painter who finds himself in a difficult financial situation. He receives a commission from the Czar of Russia to paint a portrait of the most beautiful woman outside Russia. In return, he is to receive a payment that will allow him to pay off his debts and lead a prosperous life. Dima chooses Great Britain as the place to look for the model. At a ball in London, he meets Orla, a beautiful but shy Irish girl, and asks her to pose for a portrait. Not knowing that Orla is a prostitute, he gives her his last savings. While working on the painting, romantic feelings develop between the two. When the portrait is finished, instead of returning to Russia, Dima sends the painting to the tsar so that he can spend more time with Orla. Soon the tsar responds, demanding that Dima bring Orla back to Russia, as he wants to marry her. Dima faces a difficult choice - accept wealth and fame or fight for his love. When Orla reveals to him the truth about her past, Dima must decide whether he is ready to love her despite everything and whether they are able to escape the fate the tsar has set for them.
