Maximus, believed defeated, returns with a newly formed faction of radical Inhumans who see Black Bolt’s rule as weakness. Among them are the feral Lash and the prophetic Ulysses Cain, whose visions foretell the fall of the royal family. As Maximus launches coordinated attacks to fracture Attilan from within, the Royal Family—Medusa, Gorgon, Karnak, Crystal, and Triton—are forced into open war against their own kind. As the conflict escalates, loyalty and destiny collide. Ulysses’ visions push Maximus toward an all-or-nothing coup, while Karnak sacrifices strategy for faith in the royal line. In the final battle, Attilan is devastated as Black Bolt confronts his brother once and for all. Maximus is killed, but victory comes at a terrible price when Karnak falls in combat, choosing to die protecting his king. With Attilan broken and their enemies defeated, the surviving Royal Family disbands the Inhuman monarchy, ending their rule to prevent future civil war. The film closes on Black Bolt stepping away from the throne.
