Annabel Morgan is a young journalist, originally from the United States, who decided to come to England to create a comprehensive and detailed article about life in the country, based on interviews with locals and other investigations of her own, as part of a certain journalism competition. However, when she arrives in England, the first thing she finds is that she has a hard time getting along with the locals due to their different accents. In addition, she also learns that she had a lot of misconceptions about the English beforehand. E.g. it turns out that they are not all gentlemen! After a few days, she gradually gets used to a different accent and learns various interesting customs. In order to write part of an article on English education, she decides to visit one of the English schools. She decides to interview one of the teachers-Harry Eliot, who also decides to acquaint her with other English aspects, customs. Annabel, infatuated with Harry some time later, forgets about her article! Could it be that her feelings for the handsome teacher will prove stronger than the prize in the journalism contest?
