Daniel Jonathan StevensΒ (born 10 October 1982) is an English actor and singer. He first drew international attention for his role as Matthew Crawley in the ITV period drama seriesΒ Downton AbbeyΒ (2010β2012).
He also starred as David in the thriller filmΒ The GuestΒ (2014), Sir Lancelot in the adventure filmΒ Night at the Museum: Secret of the TombΒ (2014), The Beast/Prince in Disney's live-action adaptation ofΒ Beauty and the BeastΒ (2017), Lorin Willis in the biographical legal dramaΒ MarshallΒ (2017), Charles Dickens in the biographical dramaΒ The Man Who Invented ChristmasΒ (2017) and Russian Eurovision singer Alexander Lemtov inΒ Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire SagaΒ (2020). From 2017 to 2019, he starred as David Haller in the FX seriesΒ Legion. In 2018, he starred in the Netflix horrorΒ Apostle. Since 2023, he has starred as Korvo Opposites in the animated seriesΒ Solar Opposites. In 2024, Stevens starred as Trapper inΒ Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
