Blue Marvel first appeared in Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1 and was created by Kevin Grevioux and Mat Broome in 2008. Adam Brashear is a Korean War veteran who was chosen to take part in a project to harness anti-matter from the Negative Zone, which gave him superpowers. Then, he would be known as the superhero called Blue Marvel.
