Born shortly before the 11th Hunger Games, Emrys Avery was an orphan from a young age resulting from workplace accidents to both his parents, at the dangerous unsupervised power plants of District 5. He showed anti-social tendencies and infatuation with fire from a young age; he became unpopular through much of the District for drawing Peacekeeper attention. Reaped age 15, he was responsible, through the use of technological traps and firebombs, for the deaths of 5 tributes-the boys from District 1 and 4, the girls from Districts 1, 2, 4, 8 and 10. As of the 3rd Quarter Quell he is still alive aged 64.
