Chaff was born to another rebellious family in District 11 and was reaped age 18 for the Games, assigned to Seeder Crue as a tribute-mentor. These Games, set in a toxic junkyard, were especially traumatising for the tributes; Chaff persevered but only just, losing a hand in a duel against the District 2 girl [before this and after recovery he killed all six Careers one by one]. These Games gradually took a heavy toll on Chaff's mind and drove him to high alcoholism, which he bonded over with Haymitch Abernathy and Matthias Fletcher; however it did not stop him from becoming a major rebellion figure. As of the 3rd Quarter Quell he is still alive age 48.
