Anne Reid, MBE is an English stage, film and television actress, known for her roles as Valerie Barlow in the soap opera Coronation Street; Jean in the sitcom dinnerladies; and her BAFTA-nominated role as Celia Dawson in Last Tango in Halifax.
Tom Hazard is a man with a rare genetic condition which means he ages at a significantly reduced rate. He has the appearance of being in his early 40's when he is actually over 400 years old. The story follows his current day life as a teacher in London with several flashbacks to key events across his life throughout the centuries.
