The main character, a 17-year-old loner and amateur boxer who lives on the streets of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Flick is a pickpocket who attends a school for the criminally minded. He is brutally honest, blunt, and harsh, and sometimes does unlikable things. Flick was abused by his father and seeks revenge for the murder of his brother.
