Horizon is a 2025 American romantic action sports film directed by David Leitch and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer from a screenplay by Justin Lin, Chris Morgan, and James Wan. The first installment in the Horizon film series, the film's name is partially inspired by the Forza Horizon video game franchise, of which it is based on. It stars Sasha Calle and Cara Delevingne as two professional racers who slowly fall for each other while coming into conflict with an antagonistic rival racer (David Harbour) whose desire and relish to humiliate and defeat them has made him overconfident. The supporting cast features Tony Revolori, Charles Parnell, Jeffrey Wright, Michael Shannon, Kyle Chandler, John Leguizamo, and Angela Bassett. Horizon had its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on January 24th, 2025, and was released on February 19th; the film was a financial success, grossing $877 million worldwide against a break-even point of $250 million and a budget of $152 million. The film received universal acclaim from critics and audiences as well as many racing fans, with praise for its screenplay, story, direction, the performances of Calle and Delevingne, action sequences, cinematography, Hans Zimmer's musical score, driving scenes, and emotional weight. A sequel entitled Horizon: Rise of the Champions was released one year later.
