A delinquent from Sawa High skilled in karate. He deliberately avoids gaining a blackbelt to escape the notice of police. He challenges Yuu, but is beaten, and hunted by his own former friends from his school. He tries to team up with Yuu to fight them, but ends up becoming his friend, and teaching Yuu about kicks, elbow techniques and body rotation. He used to belong to Hakusenskai, a full-contact karate dojo. His father was apparently a close friend of the president who founded Hakusensai and also a karateka, but he died in an accident when Shogo was young. This event had a strong impact on Shogo's personal development.
