Sir Patrick died from being beheaded sometime prior to 1890 and came back as a ghost. He then became the leader of the Headless Hunt, an organisation exclusively for ghosts whose heads have been completely severed from their bodies, much to the annoyance of Nearly Headless Nick, whose head was still attached by a sliver of skin and sinew when he was killed. In 1890, Sir Patrick throws a Headless Hunt party at the Hogsmeade Graveyard.
