The main Pokemon Professor of the Hoenn region and Brendan's father. He and his grandson were studying the legends of Hoenn when they ran into the Hoenn Angels, who were also looking for hints regarding the ancient legend of the Two Kings to try and stoke Mazoldine's memories. It just so happens that Amane's parents worked with Professor Birch, and even mentored Brendan for a period of time. He considers them some of the brightest researchers he'd ever had the pleasure of meeting, and has high hopes for Amane as their daughter.
