In Ancient Egypt, two Thanagarian visitors known as Katar Hol and Chay-Ara are hailed as royal and religious figures. They are both invulnerable and have wings as well as advanced technology from their planet. Chay-Ara is having an affair with the military leader Bashari. The high priest Hath-Set told Katar of this but the ruler does not believe him. Bashari and Chay-Ara are murdered by Hath-Set, who thought that his master would want this. Later, Katar drinks the wine, and stabs Hath-Set. In every generation, the two lovers are reunited in different lifes, but always faced by Hath-Set, who sometimes is having an affair with Chay-Ara, or could kill her. It always changes. This movie travels through different time periods, such as the American Revolution, the Civil War, the ‘50s, and the present day. In the present day, Hath-Set becomes Shadow Thief, a villain who is literally a shadow. Hawkman is missing and Hawkgirl, with no memory of him, must take on Shadow Thief. She finds out about her origins as he tries to rob her ancient tomb. The temple collapses after the tomb is disturbed, and Shadow Thief disappears in the wreckage, presumed dead.
