Shayera Hol, known as Hawkgirl, has spent years balancing her dual identity as a Thanagarian warrior and Earth’s protector. Though she’s finally come to terms with the loss of her soulmate, Hawkman, she now stands fully independent, determined to honor his memory while forging her own path. However, when an ancient enemy tied to Thanagar’s dark history resurfaces, Shayera must confront her past, reclaim her people’s legacy, and prove that a warrior’s heart can carry more than grief—it can carry hope and renewal. The story kicks off with Shayera in St. Roch, where she works as a curator at the city’s museum while secretly protecting her city as Hawkgirl. Her quiet routine is shattered when a powerful, ancient Thanagarian artifact—the Claw of Horus—is stolen by Hath-Set, a reincarnated sorcerer and sworn enemy of Hawkgirl and Hawkman throughout their many lives. Hath-Set plans to use the artifact to awaken the Nth Metal Golem, an unstoppable ancient weapon that could conquer Earth and Thanagar alike. Shayera teams up with a young archaeologist, Kendra Saunders, who seems to have an uncanny connection to her own past lives, as well as Adam Strange, a human adventurer with ties to the stars. Together, they follow Hath-Set’s trail across the globe—and eventually to Thanagar itself—leading to epic battles, revelations about Shayera’s destiny, and the rebirth of her faith in love, life, and her role as a hero.
