Andrew Brion Hogan Goddard (born February 26, 1975) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer most closely associated with the horror genre. He began his career writing episodes for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, and Lost. After moving into screenwriting in film, he wrote Cloverfield (2008), World War Z (2013), and The Martian (2015), the latter earning him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with The Cabin in the Woods. In 2015, Goddard created the Netflix series Daredevil. Soon after, he directed several episodes of The Good Place. He served as an executive producer for 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and The Cloverfield Paradox (2018), the next instalment in the Cloverfield franchise. It was announced in April 2024 that he would write and direct a new film in The Matrix franchise. We see the life of Hawkeye, before he was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. We get a more action packed series with grounded themes. Use this to introduce more street level characters and emotional themes. Taking elements from the 2021 Hawkeye show and the comics would make a perfect match for a 6 episode mini-series. I'd have it be released all in one on Disney+ with 1 hour long episodes to flesh out themes and characters. Having the first MCU TV show be a story about the little guy gives viewers a breather from all the monsters, mech-suits, super soldiers and Norse gods. (Just pretend Disney+ existed back in 2009 for this to even work, an alternative would be Netflix).
