The Hogwarts gamekeeper and a half-giant. Hagrid is a loyal and gentle man, though his rage is terrifying to behold if those he cares about are threatened and insulted. He is promoted to Care of Magical Creatures teacher in Harry's third year, though his love of dangerous creatures alarms even his closest friends.
