The son of Molly and Arthur Weasley, the younger brother of Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George and the older brother of Ginny. Ron feels a lot of pressure to live up to the achievements of his older brothers. He and Harry become best friends during their first trip on the Hogwarts Express.
