Rikki had to work hard not only in school but a part time job due to her mother passing away years prior so she could support her father. Despite gaining a scholarship to Sydney, Rikki hated leaving her father so far away and sometimes her stress affects her better judgement. Upon becoming a mermaid, she learns to see her powers as a way to relax and take time to clear her head and make friends along the way.
