Fantasy horror.
The mythological Greek tragedy of Theseus and the Minotaur, given a Guillermo del Toro makeover.
This version will give the monster, born ‘Asterius’, an empathetic depiction (similar to that of Frankenstein’s monster). His mistreatment by King Minos corrupts him and this contorts him into the monster he becomes, setting up a collision course with Theseus.
The film will use del Toros preferred physical effects and prosthetics to bring the Minotaur to life, rather than being CGI heavy.
