Brash outlaw Peter Quill finds himself at odds with a group called the Black Order after he finds the Power Stone. He tries to fend them off himself, but is unsuccessful in doing so. He soon meets up with a group consisting of gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, fiercely loyal Wal-Russ, tree-like Groot, and the mysterious Rosalina. He makes a pact with this group to help him fight off the Black Order. Soon they meet up with the enigmatic Gamora, vengeance driven Drax, and the one only known as The Weird.
