In 1980s Miami, Tommy Vercetti, a former mobster from New York City, is sent to Miami by his boss, Sonny Forelli, to oversee a drug deal gone wrong. The deal was intended to cement their foothold in Miami’s lucrative drug trade. However, Tommy is betrayed and left for dead by his associates.
Surviving the ambush, Tommy vows revenge and begins a journey to take over Miami’s criminal underworld. He forms alliances with various factions including the Vance brothers, Lance and Victor, and local power players like real estate mogul Avery Carrington and drug lord Ricardo Diaz. Along the way, Tommy navigates through a web of betrayals, power struggles, and alliances, all while building his empire and seeking those who double-crossed him.
As Tommy rises to the top, he confronts his past, his enemies, and the temptations of Miami’s glamorous and dangerous lifestyle. Ultimately, he must decide how far he’s willing to go to claim his place as the kingpin of Miami and whether he can trust anyone in a city where loyalty is a rare commodity.
