Hal Jordan is a test pilot who crash landed in a desert. He finds an alien named Abin Sur, and Abin gives him a ring. Hal puts it on and becomes Green Lantern. Then he goes to space and gets trained by Sinestro. This is basically First Flight in live action, but with the manhunters as the villains instead of Sinestro.
