Following the annihilation of his hometown at the hands of the Legion of Doom in Justice League II, a grief-stricken Hal Jordan uses his power ring to recreate the city and its residents. Because using a power ring for personal gain violates Corps law, the Guardians of the Universe confront Hal, causing his constructed city to vanish.
Driven mad by grief and betrayal, Hal travels with his love Carol Ferris into deep space for several months until suddenly he returns as the villainous Parallax & Star Sapphire who are both hellbent on destroying the Green Lantern Corps. Now, it's up to a new Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, to do battle and hopefully set things right.
