Tobias A. Schliessler (born 5 November 1958) is a German cinematographer. Schliessler was born in Baden-Baden, Germany, to documentary filmmaker and artist Martin Schliessler (1929–2008) and editor Anemone Schliessler (née Heim). His brother, Jochen, is a documentary filmmaker, and his sister, Tina, is a film producer, photographer, and painter. Schiessler grew up in Baden-Baden. In 1979, he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he later studied film at Simon Fraser University. After graduating as a cinematographer, he started to work on documentary films and advertisement spots. In the late 1980s, he began to work for Canadian television productions. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked on the production of movies like Dreamgirls, Hancock and Battleship. He often works with the directors Bill Condon and Peter Berg. Green Lantern Corps is an upcoming 2022 American superhero film directed and produced by Peter Berg, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick serving as executive producers, and produced by Charles Roven, Richard Suckle, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Mark Wahlberg. It is the thirteenth entry in the DC Extended Universe, marks the sixth collaboration between Wahlberg and Berg after Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, Mile 22 and Spenser Confidential, and stars Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale, Natalia Reyes, John David Washington, Alan Tudyk, Kevin Michael Richardson, Ken Watanabe, Luke Evans, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, with Dev Patel and Kenneth Branagh. The film takes place in New York City as Hal Jordan lives a perfect life with his friend, John Stewart where he works as a race car driver. Until one night, Hal sees something incredible. Hal Jordan wears the ring, travels to a inhabitant planet called Oa, becomes a leader of the Green Lantern, sends the Rings to his friends, and fights Sinestro from annihilating the world. The film will have its premiere at TCL Chinese Theater on June 3, 2022 and be released in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service by Warner Bros. Pictures on June 10, 2022.
