David Kenneth Harbour (born April 10, 1975) is an American actor. He has received nominations for a Tony Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. David began his career acting in Shakespearean theatre productions. After his professional debut on Broadway in the 1999 revival of The Rainmaker, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in a production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. He made his television debut on Law & Order in 1999 and had supporting roles in films such as Brokeback Mountain (2005), Revolutionary Road (2008) and Black Mass (2015). Harbour gained global recognition for his portrayal of Jim Hopper in the Netflix science fiction series Stranger Things (2016–2025), for which he received a Critics' Choice Television Award as well as nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards. His starring film roles include the title character in Hellboy (2019), Santa Claus in Violent Night (2022) and a former racer in the sports film Gran Turismo (2023). Harbour has played Red Guardian in the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise, beginning with the film Black Widow (2021). John Stewart is a man struggling after recently losing his job as an architect due to a building collapsing, to console himself he buys a candy ringpop. Little does he know by accident he has been chosen to be a green lantern! turns out a ring from a dead lantern fell into the factory and got packaged as a ringpop. The ring takes John to OA. He is informed of his inducment into the green lantern corps and his higher purpose. His first mission is so urgent, to find a missing lantern also from earth, Hal Jordan, they have recieved a signal that he has been tied up and cant escape. Worried about his family, John's told its a dangerous mission and cant involve them in it so he disappears with no trace until the mission is completed. Including his wife: Lilly Stewart, and his daughter: Bree Stewart. He meets his fellow corps members and leaves for his first mission. To try and find Hal, he returns to earth and speaks to Carol Ferris who gives him a hint of where to find Hal. John Stewart leaves to Hal's location after battling several different hostile space populations to get there. He finds Hal tied up by Sinetsro. John has to fight Sinestro and free Hal. they return to the green lantern corps and John becomes a permanent member. Hal doesn't seem upset about the situation with Sinestro, but why?
