Hal Jordan is a test pilot at Ferris Aircraft. One day he finds the crash-landed alien Abin Sur, a Green Lantern. He tells that he fought against Sinestro, a former Green Lantern, who went rogue. Before his death Abin Sur commands his power ring to give Hal its powers. When Jordan says the oath, he is teleported to Oa, the planet of the Green Lantern Corps.
