Kimila Ann Basinger (born December 8, 1953) is an American actress and former fashion model. She has garnered acclaim for her work in film and television, for which she has received various accolades including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Following a brief but successful career modeling in New York, Basinger moved to Los Angeles where she began acting on television in 1976. She appeared in several made-for-TV films, including a remake of From Here to Eternity (1979), before making her feature debut in the drama Hard Country (1981). Hailed as a sex symbol of the 1980s and 1990s, Basinger came to prominence for her performance of Bond girl Domino Petachi in Never Say Never Again (1983). Robert Green was an ageing but successful businessman and the CEO of Queen Industries. After over 40 years at the helm, Robert announces his plans to retire and hand over the role of CEO to his son Oliver. However Oliver is known as a party animal and an alcoholic and Robert and his wife Moira are worried that their son is going to waste his life and not realising his full potential. Robert decides to take Oliver on a private trip on his yacht to try and hopefully help his son get his life in order. All of a sudden the yacht and the ship is attacked by pirates, Oliver tries to fighting one off before one of them pulls out a gun and points it at Oliver. However Robert pushes his son into the water with the bullet firing into his chest. The pirates escape with the yacht as Oliver and Robert wash up on an abandoned island. Robert tells Oliver to not waste his life before dying in his son’s arms. In order to survive and to protect himself, Oliver takes up archery and crafts his own makeshift bow. 5 years later; Oliver is saved by the US military and a team led by Oliver’s childhood friend John Diggle.
