Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) is an American film special effects company, multiple Academy Award winner for Best Visual Effects, founded in May 1975 by George Lucas. It is a division of the production company Lucasfilm, created in 1971. Its headquarters are located in the Presidio of San Francisco, California. Lynwen Brennan, who joined the company in 1999, is currently president and general manager of ILM.[4] In 2012, with the purchase of Lucasfilm by the Walt Disney Company, ILM also became the property of the company.[5]
The company is known for several successful franchises, such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Avengers. It is also responsible for the show ABBA Voyage.
