Narrated by the unknown, omniscient blogger "Gossip Girl", the series revolves around the lives of privileged upper-class adolescents living in Milan. The series begins with the return of Upper Milan Side teenage "it girl" Serena Vandelli from a mysterious absence. She is reunited with her frenemy Barbara Wolf-Ferrari and her mother Liliana, and she also meets Daniele Herin—an aspiring writer from Corsico who is one of Serena's main love interests throughout the show. Other main characters include Nico Aretusi, Carlo Bassini, Jolanda Herin, Vanessa Abbate, Ruggero Herin and Isa DiMarco.
