Roland Malcom is a mercenary hired by Maxwell Ashdown, his former military superior, in joining his strike force formed by him and Monarch to stop Wendell Trauser and the kaiju he released, Rajira, from causing destruction. Roland serves as the second in command of the strike force as he assist his commander and the team in stopping Wendell and they would battle against Wendell's milita and later in the climax, Roland, Maxwell, and their strike force would assist Godzilla in his battle against Rajira to save the world. At the end of the series, Roland would leave Monarch, but gives them his number if he is ever needed again.
