Amy Lou Adams (born August 20, 1974) is an American actress. Known for both her comedic and dramatic roles, she has been featured three times in annual rankings of the world's highest-paid actresses. She has received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards. She has been nominated for six Academy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. Adams began her career as a dancer in dinner theatre, a pursuit she followed from 1994 to 1998. They made her film debut with a supporting part in the dark comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). She made guest appearances on television and took on roles as the "mean girl" in low-budget feature films. Her first major role was in Steven Spielberg's biopic Catch Me If You Can (2002), but she was unemployed for a year afterwards. Her breakthrough came when she portrayed a loquacious pregnant woman in the independent comedy-drama Junebug(2005), for which she received her first Academy Award nomination. A spaceship entered the Earth's atmosphere over US territory, and the army tried to shoot it down. The damaged ship landed on the outskirts of Metropolis. On board is the last girl to survive the destruction of planet Krypton. Her name is Kara Zor-El. Terrified and confused girl has to quickly cope with the unknown environment on planet earth and also with her new superpowers. But Kara also has to face Amanda Waller, who runs the secret government project Cadmus. Waller decides to eliminate her as an alien threat and deploys all her soldiers and the secret weapons at her disposal for this task. Clark Kent, known as Superman, is quick to notice the strange events in Metropolis. He manages to get to the wreck of the spaceship that hit his city, and from its records a surprised Kal-El finds out who arrived on the ground in it and immediately realizes that he has to find Kara before it's too late. At the same time, however, a great evil is slowly approaching the earth from the depths of the universe.
