Several weeks after Yellowjacket's defeat, the stolen Pym Particle technology has been recovered and S.H.I.E.L.D. officially closes the investigation. Meanwhile, former S.H.I.E.L.D. scientist Dr. George Tarleton quietly leaves government service. Deep inside an abandoned industrial research facility, he begins assembling a new team of engineers, chemists, roboticists, and physicists who believe scientific discovery should never be restricted by governments or military oversight. Tarleton unveils the name of his new organization: Advanced Ideas Mechanics Or simply—A.I.M. Unlike S.H.I.E.L.D., A.I.M. promises limitless innovation, regardless of ethical boundaries.
