Johnny Blaze (Norman Reedus), and speed junkie, motorcycle daredevil stunt performer, has a dark secret. Even when he was young Johnny lived life on the edge. When he was young he witnessed his father, Barton Blaze (Nicholas Cage), die in a horrific stunt accident gone wrong. Later adopted by another stunt performer, Craig "Crash" Simpson (Kevin Bacon), who would later get cancer. Out of options, Johnny tried everything to help his adoptive father. Eventually decided to risk everything by making a deal with the devil himself...Mephistopheles, or Mephisto (Ian McShane). He managed to cure Crash's cancer at the cost of his own soul, however, Crash would later die in a stunt gone wrong. Now cursed, Johnny is now infused with a demon, Zarathos (Johnny Depp), and now he is forced to roam the world to punish the wicked as the Spirit of Vengeance, the Ghost Rider.
