Charlie Thomas Cox (born 15 December 1982) is an English actor. He is known for portraying Matt Murdock / Daredevil in seven projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leading the television series Daredevil (2015–2018) and Daredevil: Born Again (2025–present). Cox portrayed Owen Sleater in the second and third seasons of HBO's Boardwalk Empire (2011–2012) and Jonathan Hellyer Jones in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything. He starred in the RTÉ drama series Kin (2021–2023) and the Netflix spy miniseries Treason (2022). Cox's breakout role was as Tristan Thorn in the 2007 fantasy film Stardust, one of several roles he had in predominantly British productions during the first decade of his career. He made his West End debut the following year in a revival of the Harold Pinter plays The Lover and The Collection. Following his successes on-screen in the 2010s, he acted in a 2019 stage production of Harold Pinter's Betrayal, first in the West End and then on Broadway. He would later make his video game debut in 2025 as Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Johnny Blaze (Norman Reedus), and speed junkie, motorcycle daredevil stunt performer, has a dark secret. Even when he was young Johnny lived life on the edge. When he was young he witnessed his father, Barton Blaze (Nicholas Cage), die in a horrific stunt accident gone wrong. Later adopted by another stunt performer, Craig "Crash" Simpson (Kevin Bacon), who would later get cancer. Out of options, Johnny tried everything to help his adoptive father. Eventually decided to risk everything by making a deal with the devil himself...Mephistopheles, or Mephisto (Ian McShane). He managed to cure Crash's cancer at the cost of his own soul, however, Crash would later die in a stunt gone wrong. Now cursed, Johnny is now infused with a demon, Zarathos (Johnny Depp), and now he is forced to roam the world to punish the wicked as the Spirit of Vengeance, the Ghost Rider.
