Long thought to be murdered as a baby by the Mountain, Aegon grew up in the company of Jon Connington, his father Rhaegar’s old friend. Deciding to leave the Golden Company upon hearing of his aunt’s death, he rides to Volantis to resurrect her as soon as Drogon lands. He has already gained the approval and support of the Red Women in the city when Jaehaerys Greenfyre, a bastard of his grandfather, approaches him.
