Hans Florian Zimmer (born 12 September 1957) is a German film score composer and music producer. He has won two Oscars, four Grammys, and has been nominated for three Emmys and a Tony. Zimmer was also named on the list of Top 100 Living Geniuses, published by The Daily Telegraph in 2007. His works are notable for integrating electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. Since the 1980s, Zimmer has composed music for over 150 films. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score for The Lion King (1994) and for Dune (2021). His works include Gladiator, The Last Samurai, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Man of Steel, Interstellar, Dunkirk, No Time to Die, and the Dune series. Zimmer spent the early part of his career in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States. He is the head of the film music division at DreamWorks Pictures and DreamWorks Animation studios and works with other composers through the company that he founded, Remote Control Productions, formerly known as Media Ventures. His studio in Santa Monica, California, has an extensive range of computer equipment and keyboards, allowing demo versions of film scores to be created quickly. Frostbite Ranger is a 2027 American gothic supernatural horror film directed by Robert Eggers, written by Taylor Sheridan and Eggers, and produced by Jordan Peele and Eggers from a story by Peele, and starring Cara Delevingne, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Isaiah Washington, Michael Keaton, Bill Skarsgård, Neal McDonough, Gil Birmingham, and Willem Dafoe. It is the first installment in the Frostbite Ranger franchise. The film follows a park ranger who is enlisted to watch over an eerie, darkened location that is part of the forest she calls home in Wyoming. Frostbite Ranger was released theatrically on January 20th, 2027; it received universal acclaim from critics and audiences, who found the film to be terrifying in its own right and praised its visual effects, direction, and atmosphere, but especially Delevingne's performance and Hans Zimmer's musical score, with the entire soundtrack being deemed "bone-chilling and scary without effort." It was also a financial success, grossing over $816 million worldwide. A sequel is in development with Delevingne, Armstrong and Washington set to return.
